Work in Progress meme
If you happen to be working on some creative writing project, post exactly one sentence from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favourite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion. Mention the title (and genre) if you like, but don't mention anything else. This is merely to whet the general appetite for your forthcoming work(s).

"Such As We": When the sidewalks were emptier, he walked, head down, seeing words on heavy paper, not stones beneath his feet.

"Friend and Stranger": He’d had nightmares like this – too much like this: alone and believing himself safe, someone saying Richard, and looking up to see Deputy Marshal Gerard looming over him, with that tight-lipped, arrogant grin set on his face.

"O My Enemy": There were over a dozen parallel lines, as neatly cut as if drawn across his flesh with a ruler, marked in red.

"Hate Against The Will": Iron rusts. Eventually.

"Thirty Days Outside The World": Ursula reads it, compulsively: she’ll talk about what kind of things people are writing non-stop if you let her corner you.

"Words, Words, Words": If the food is consumed, the coin is destroyed.
