Meme: Watching The Show In Your Head
Invented from [info]the_willow's post of the same name:

Give me a show you know I write fanfic for, even just once, and I'll tell you the difference between the show I think they intended us to watch and the show I see in my head.

In laptop news, my laptop is with a cheery and confident repairperson, who appears to think that I can have it back tomorrow.

I've been sort of writing snippets of "The Gambler".

I'm a newer fan, although I think I read an UNCLE story that you wrote several years ago. Can you give me an idea of the fandoms that you have written in?

Glad to hear that the laptop is getting better.

There's a list on my website. I think the only fandoms not listed there are a couple of SGA shorts I wrote a while back and, er, all my yuletide stories (Quantum Leap, Master and Commander/The Count of Monte Cristo, C. J. Cherryh's Alliance/Union, Villette, and I Capture the Castle.

Plus Jane Austen. Always and forever, Jane.)

Forever Knight, because my first great love involved vampires and a Sunday serial story.

A vampire who kept wanting to be human meets a human woman who's immune to the vampire gaze of illusion. He's fascinated by someone he can't just lie to: she's fascinated by him as science-project. They become friends. Chaos ensues. Kerr Avon is in it too disguised as a much older vampire.

I had to google Kerr Avon as I am not familiar with that actor. I never saw slash in Forever Knight, there was possessives on the part of LaCroix but it never came across as sexual to me.

Didn't care for Nathalie and I actually named one of my children after Nikoli (not Nicholas).

The actor who played LaCroix lives at least part time outside my town but I've never ran into him.

Well, since I see you've written Quantum Leap...Quantum Leap. :)

Sam Beckett committed suicide when he jumped into the mcguffin thing, and Al Calavicci, aware his best friend was dead, nevertheless had to spend six years talking to other people inside Sam's body and Sam's soul inside other people's bodies. God did it because God is a complete bastard.

MASH! I almost always say mash when you say to pick a fandom you know, but I LOVE MASH. I read Alan Alda's autobiography recently, I can't remember if you were the person who mentioned it near me but it seems likely. I liked him more than I thought I would and was quite glad I didn't know him in real life. This is an aside really. MASH.

M*A*S*H is all about a priest in Korea who falls in love with a doctor and they keep having intense encounters and sometimes sex, and there's lots of angst and surprising amounts of hugging, and at the same time the doctor was in love with someone else who left him and then he fell in love with someone who didn't love him back but stayed around being nice and charming and playing practical jokes on him. Also, Winchester definitely had a thing about Klinger. And there's a war on.

Is that not the show they meant us to be watching?

I think they thought it was an anti-war series symbolically about Vietnam.

I thought Sydney had a thing for Hawkeye.
