is trying to change the USNA. I do have a hard time with the concept that the whole world would role over and accept this degree of wrongness. Although God knows, we do accept alot. I also like to think that parts of Canada while conquered in this story would still be resisting (at min. trying to send escaped slaves overseas.)
I dunno, I mean (*soapbox warning*) it's hard for me to believe that the rest of the world - all of the US's allies - just rolled over and accepted that the US was going to set up a system of dealing with prisoners of war that was flagrantly against the Geneva Conventions, and would continue to do and say nothing even after it became clear - which it's been clear for years! - that many of the prisoners in the US gulag system were kidnap victims, not prisoners of war at all. But that happened. Granted that was on a smaller scale - but so (I assume) was the USNA's slavery system when it started.
There is a certain brutal logic to Sam keeping Richard especially if Sam actually believes that Richard killed his wife. Then to justify it to himself, he ensures that Richard has a better quality of life with him then he would in the arena.
Yeah.
Thank you for letting me know the identities of George and Adam, although I should have guessed George.
Heh. I actually enjoy being a little obscure, but the cast list post is a good idea for people who don't want to have to guess/wait.
